Here Comes Chris Leben For Yoshihiro Akiyama

The popular Japanese mixed martial arts artist, Yoshihiro Takayama, is aiming for for a good win in UFC 116 to lift his name with a victory against a marquee name. Akiyama supposedly will fight Wanderlei Silva but Silva was force to withdraw the fight due to knee and rib injuries. Now that Silva is out, Chris Leben stepped in.

Leben accepted the fight even though there’s just less than two weeks to prepare. Well, Leben doesn’t have any problem about that.Leben recently fought against Aaron Simpson in”The Ultimate Fighter 1″ finale on June 19, 2010. He won via TKO and with just less than two weeks, he’s going to face another battle and this time with Sexyama.

If Leben doesnt have any complaint on his scheduled fight, Akiyama was a bit disappointed. He waited for so long just to face Silva but due to injuries, their fight was canceled and Leben stepped in. Upon knowing this, Leben was annoyed and he said that Akiyama needs to stop whining and moaning.

Boos For Evans, Cheers For Jackson

It is just seven hours to go and we will be able to see the fight between Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson (Evans vs Jackson Fight Video). Who do you think is stronger? Who do you think is technically smarter? Who do you think is more skilled fighter? Who do you think will win in UFC 114 live stream? Is it going to be Evans or Jackson?

GSP Next Opponent: Koscheck or Daley?

Georges St. Pierre may watch UFC 113 in Montreal, Canada. He needs to watch UFC 113 live stream so that he can be able to see the live action between Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley.

Koscheck and Daley was given a title shot for the UFC Welteweight Championship. Whoever wins will face the most-feared man and the undefeated UFC welterweight champion - Georges St. Pierre.

Koscheck has a record of 14 wins and 4 losses. Out of 14 wins, 4 were from KOs, 5 from submissions, and 5 decisions. On the other hand Daley has 23 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws. Out of 23 wins, 18 were from KOs and 1 from submission. Take note that all Daley’s victories came from KO or submission. He hasn’t experienced yet how to win via decision so it’s going to be a big challenge for Koscheck.

American Actor Robert Duvall In Pacquiao’s Training Session

American veteran actor Robert Duvall who rose to fame after landing in larger roles in 1970’s hit movies like the The Godfather, The Godfather II, MASH, THX 1138, and The Great Santini, visited Manny Pacquiao in his training session in Los Angeles, California.

Robert Duvall said that he was amazed on Pacquiao. Coach Freddie Roach gave him a special seat so that he can enjoy Pacquiao while having a training. Duvall said that he remembered that day he went to Philippines and it is when they shoot the 1979 film “Apocalypse Now.”

There are many other Hollywood celebrities who have visited Pacquiao while he’s on training like Mark Wahlberg, Jean-Claude van Damme, and Entourage’s Jeremy Piven.

What Happened To UFC 109?

UFC still had a successful night yesterday despite of some irritating major changes in the fight cards. I enjoyed the match most specially the Couture vs Coleman match. Couture was strong last night and he seems like a 30 year old man.

Couture still enjoys his career and as what he says he’s still coming back and hopefully next time will be a title fight. Coleman was funny. Right after the fight when he was being interviewed, Tito Ortiz shouted at him (I don’t what Tito says to him) and Coleman used the microphone and he said “Fu*ck you Tito.” I know they were just teasing each other and they’re really good friends so it’s just a teasing remark for Coleman because Coleman was like a pig in the arms of Couture.

Dana White Expect Lower PPV Rate

Dana White admitted that he expect lower PPV rate on UFC 109 tonight. Would that mean that the Couture vs Coleman match is not that interesting to watch? 

White said that UFC 108 card attracted 420,000 buys which is lower compare to the UFC 107 that has 620,000 buys. White said that since UFC 105, UFC has been hammered by a series of injuries that resulted to poor fight cards. Based on the statistics, UFC PPVs declines whenver there is no title fight. So that’s why UFC 107 match between Penn and Sanchez drew a lot of PPV buys. It only shows that people are quite interested to buy PPV if there is a title match.

That’s a fact! People got bored most especially if they announced the fight cards and late they would find out that some of the fighters they’re expecting will be moved out from the card.

Nogueira’s Next Stop - UFC 106?

Don’t get it wrong, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s twin brother Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is set to play in UFC 106 against Luiz Cane. Again, it’s Minotauro twin brother and not Minotauro himself. Minotauro is set to play for a title shot in UFC 108 against Cain Velasquez.

Talking about Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, he had five straight wins since the year 2007.  He fought against Dion Staring on his previous fight in Jungle Fight Ceara where he won via submission, 3:59 in Round No. 3.

UFC seems to be dominating this last month ’til yesterday. But don’t you know I’ve just seen some comments and reviews by other people comparing UFC and boxing event this Saturday. 

 UFC fans said that they have many fight cards which make them decide to buy UFC PPV. Most of them thought that it will not be worth it to watch 1 match where you can have seven matches in just one PPV. We can’t take away the fact that the Mayweather vs Marquez fight is a big bout. But people thought that it would be better to watch seven fight cards rather than one though the boxing event has undercards. So here comes the slow pace of tickets sales in Mayweather vs Marquez fight. Mayweather and Marquez team thought that they were forgotten by people that’s why their tickets are not yet sold out. But just recently the tickets were officially sold out!

People do research everyday. They read many articles and watch their conferences. UFC and boxing have their own promo videos. UFC have UFC 103 video blogs while boxing has HBO Mayweather vs Marquez 24/7. We check some comments and find out that they realize that UFC 103 doesn’t have a good fight card. They became more interesting after they have watched the Mayweather vs Marquez weigh in session. Although Mayweather exceeds 2 pounds, the fight will still go on and that makes the boxing more interesting to watch tonight.

 Well, UFC needs some spark in their fight cards. They must not disappoint their fans and viewers this Saturday and make it sure that UFC 103 is going to be a good event. Well, on the other hand, we don’t if Mayweather already cope up with the environment. It’s been two years since he left the boxing ring and now that he’s back, people are expecting that he will give the crowds an explosive fight.

Lesnar and Mir Face To Face On UFC 100

It is just 24 hours to go before the UFC 100 event. I know everybody who loves mixed martial arts can’t wait any longer to watch this spectacular sports event. As what the UFC promised to us, the UFC 100 fight cards will make history tomorrow. Fighters in UFC 100 were chosen very carefully to give us the heaviest and biggest fight event ever in UFC history.

 We all know that the main event is between Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar. And this will be their second face off in UFC. We have watched how Lesnar was defeated by Frank Mir. But the question is would it still be the same in UFC 100. Brock Lesnar proudly stated that he is different this time. He is a new Lesnar. He might be disppointed because some would criticize him that he just win because he has huge body. So Lesnar want to win against Mir using his new techniques and not just because he has a huge body or fist.
